Place every event into the running order
Use sessions and blocks to make the actual meet order readable before invitations go out.
Quick steps
- 1Create all events first on the Events and Divers step.
- 2Open the timeline step and review the unplaced events.
- 3Add blocks for introductions, warm-ups, intermissions, or breaks.
- 4Drag events into sessions or use the add session controls.
- 5Combine compatible events only when the meet will actually run them together.
- 6Choose the diver order policy for each session.
- 7Confirm every event is placed before continuing.
A good Division III dual meet pattern
A common two-session structure is Session 1 with men’s 3-meter and women’s 1-meter, then an intermission, then Session 2 with men’s 1-meter and women’s 3-meter. The timeline should make that easy to see without reading a long settings form.
Estimated end times
RipScore estimates timing by combining the scheduled start, buffer blocks, event dive counts, number of divers, and average dive speed. As the meet runs, the live estimate can be adjusted from real pace.
Combined-session rules
Combined sessions should communicate what is happening without hiding the underlying events. If a session contains men’s 3-meter and women’s 1-meter, both events still keep their own divers, scoring rules, and results.
- Do not place the same event in multiple sessions.
- Avoid two events for the same gender running at the same time unless the meet format explicitly requires it.
- Choose an ordering policy before meet day so the director console knows who is up next.
Jack summary
The meet timeline turns individual events into a run order. Add intro or warm-up blocks, place every event into a session, combine compatible men/women events when needed, and confirm estimated start and end times.
